An inquisitive researcher, writer, producer, a social activist and the Founder Chairperson of ‘Organ Donors’ Association-Nepal’ (ODA-N), it is him who had undertaken a series of painstaking studies and researches for over five years before translating his dream into a concrete concept of THIS short movie, as well as that of a documentary and a feature film, all of them unequivocally centered on the theme of ‘Organ Donation’.

‘Kathmandu: A Tale of Toils of a Sinking Civilization’ (a Cause-driven Documentary in Nepali with English subtitles) and ‘The Blind by Heart’ (a short movie in Nepalbhasa with English subtitles) are the two of Mr. Amatya’s latest award-winning audio-visual creations besides a number of books and over 300 published articles on different topics to his credit. Of them, while ‘The Blind by Heart’ had bagged the Second Prize in a short movies’ competition held in Kathmandu in June 2022, ‘Kathmandu: A Tale of Toils of a Sinking Civilization’ has won the ‘Best Documentary Award-2025’ in June 2025 in Kathmandu. On his writing table now are two historic feature films: ‘Battle Between Bhaktapur and the Gurkhas: An Untold Story of Broken Bonds and Betrayals’ and ‘The Snowstorm: An Untold Story of the Trans-Himalayan Silk Road’, and three documentaries.

In ‘The Rebirth’, the one who stands behind the camera is Mr. Rahul Rai, a well-admired cinematographer, who, in his professional career spanning for over two decades, has over three dozens of documentaries, feature films and music videos to his credit.
